Check out whether your globe shows Micronesia as US or independant. Or whether Zimbabwe still says Rhodesia. Use the list to figure out when your globe was made.
Mine? Somewhere around 1986, apparently. I need a new globe.
BONUS HUMILIATION: Trying to find all the countries. I knew most of the few I looked at to find my globe’s age, but I’m shocked that I couldn’t immediately find Guatemala. Seriously, that’s our backyard, man. Disgraceful.
